Moms will be honored with half price admission on May 12 to Woodland Park Zoo’s 22nd annual Mom & Me at the Zoo!
The Northwest family tradition features a day of fun for moms and families on the North Meadow: live entertainment by professional Zaniac Alex Zerbe, Tribe Dance Troup, The Bears Upstairs and Arc School of Ballet; keeper talks about maternal care for Visayan warty pigs, warthogs, elephants, penguins and gorillas; Cougar Mountain cookies; and bounce houses, crafts and face painting.
Continue the day of fun by experiencing the wild and wonder of the zoo’s 92 acres and 1,000 animal ambassadors. Don’t miss the new warthogs, the wild pigs of the African savanna, and critically endangered Visayan warty pigs of the Philippines, whose spiky head tufts resemble the hairdos of punk rockers. The wild pigs are presented by U.S. Bank and The Seattle Times.
A variety of programs and keeper talks will be offered such as African Village storytelling, raptor free flight demonstrations, singing, dancing and puppet shows in Zoomazium, elephant poo papermaking, and giraffe and elephant feedings (additional cost for feedings).
