FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why is Woodland Park Zoo launching ZooAction?
Public policy decisions affect Woodland Park Zoo’s funding and programming. From funding for capital projects in the State budget, to funding for science education and city land use issues, we are impacted by decisions made by our elected officials. The zoo has always worked to inform and educate our elected leaders about the work of the zoo, but we believe it is time to broaden our effort to include others who support the zoo.
What will I be asked to do if I join?
We will send you periodic emails updating you about public policy decisions being considered that impact the zoo and our programs. You will occasionally be asked to take action in a variety of ways:
Emailing your elected officials in support or opposition of specific legislation or funding requests.
Calling your elected officials in support or opposition of specific legislation or funding requests.
Voting on measures that affect the zoo.
Attending events in support of zoo efforts to advance public policy issues that impact the zoo.
