Woodland Park Zoo’s summer camps inspire children to make conservation a priority in their lives through play and science learning that builds connection to nature and the animals of our world. Our summer camp dates follow Seattle Public Schools’ calendar.
Camps are divided into tiers by camper age. Each tier offers developmentally appropriate curricula that support Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) with themes that are thought-provoking, educational, and fun.
Pond Turtles
Ages 5-6
Learn about the world of animals through exploration. Camp curricula focus on early learning best practices and school readiness.
River Otters
Ages 7-9
Dive deeper into the world of animals as a scientist. Camp curricula focus on developing tools for scientific inquiry.
Grizzly Bears
Ages 10-13
Go beyond the zoo to learn about global wildlife conservation and become a part of the solution. Camp curricula align with NGSS and youth development best practices.
