Join City of Issaquah Urban Forest Supervisor Dan Hintz on an excursion through Confluence Park to learn about and identify as many unique species of plants and animals as possible!

Skyway Park Restoration Party

Free to attend. Registration required.


Saturday, April 26, 2025, 9:00 - 12:00 p.m. | Skyway Park, Seattle, WA

Join King County Parks & several community organizations in restoring the health of Skyway Park. 

Skyway Park is located in the West Hill community, an unincorporated urban area on Lake Washington. In the park are three wetlands that function as the headwaters of Taylor Creek, a salmon-bearing stream that passes through Seattle's Deadhorse Canyon and enters Lake Washington.

This restoration party is part of the Earth Deserves More Than a Day line up of environmental justice events running from April 21-26.

Join us as we observe the amazing biodiversity in one of Seattle's natural spaces- Longfellow Creek. If you have a Smart Phone, bring it along as we'll be using the iNaturalist app to record our findings to help Seattle compete in the international City Nature Challenge! Wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear as we will be walking about 1/2 mile. There is a set of stairs, but the path is fairly flat otherwise.

Who is This For?


Educators (classroom, informal, nature, outdoor, etc.) and other group and community leaders in King, Pierce or Snohomish Counties who want to help get people engaged in City Nature Challenge.


What We Cover


We cover the background and goals of this global and local event, how to use the iNaturalist app both to upload and to explore observations, and creative ideas for how best to motivate and lead others to successfully participate in this event. We include tips on maintaining respectful relationships with nature and how to find wild plants and animals in unexpected places!
