Looking for a fun, affordable, and eco-friendly way to visit Woodland Park Zoo? You’re in luck!
Thanks to our partnership with King County Metro, it’s now easier than ever to plan a sustainable visit to Woodland Park Zoo—and you can even ride for free!
Plan your transit trip using King County Metro’s trip planner
While supplies last, all General Admission ticket buyers (18+)—including CAP and Discover Ticket holders, and discounted tickets—can receive 600 points in free transit credit, enough to cover a roundtrip fare on public transportation. Download the Transit GO Ticket app, redeem your credit from the promo code in your pre-visit email, and ride transit to your day of animal-filled fun.
Did you know that all youth ages 18 and under can ride transit for free throughout Washington State?
Thanks to the Move Ahead Washington transportation funding package, young riders can travel at no cost on King County Metro buses, Link light rail, and other participating transit services!
Kids and teens ride free on all public transit throughout Washington State, so this is a great option for families looking to make a day of it—without the parking fees or traffic headaches.

Riding transit is simple and easy. Plan your trip, tap your ORCA card (if you have one), and be ready for your stop. And remember, youth riding the Link light rail or buses don’t need a card for free rides (except for the Monorail, which requires a Youth ORCA card).
Want to get a free Youth ORCA card? You can easily order one here. Just make sure to order in advance, as it can take up to 2 weeks for delivery.
Any General Admission ticket purchased at zoo.org/visit at least 24 hours in advance of your visit qualifies for the promotion. This includes Discover Tickets, military admission, accessibility admission, and more. Event tickets are not eligible at this time.
The free transit credit is one-time use per customer. If there are multiple adults in your group, each person must download the Transit GO Ticket app and redeem the promo code individually to receive their own 600 points in transit credits.
This free transit offer does not apply to the Monorail.
It applies to the following services: King County Metro buses, Link light rail, Sounder trains, Water taxi, Seattle Streetcar, Lime and Bird micromobility, Metro Community Shuttles, Community Vans, Community Ride, Trailhead Direct, Via to Transit, Access service and Kitsap Transit buses.
The promotion will run while supplies last. We encourage you to take advantage of this offer early in the season!
For any issues with the Transit GO Ticket app, please contact King County Metro’s customer support team. They can assist with questions about redeeming and using your transit credits.
