With your support, we’re elevating our commitment to creating an accessible and sustainable zoo in the oasis of our 92-acre urban forest. We’ll ensure all our visitors feel connected to nature and motivated to take decisive action for its future. With your gift today, we will distinguish ourselves even more for our world-class animal care, immersive exhibits, and conservation leadership—and provide an unforgettable zoo experience to our community.

When you support the Our Urban Forest initiative, you are investing in these key impacts and zoo transformations:

Key Impacts

Zoo for All

We’re driving increased access and inclusion across the zoo, creating enriching and memorable zoo experiences where every visitor feels included in all the zoo has to offer, connected to all aspects of our mission, and accepted for exactly who they are.

Animal Care

We’re further enhancing our care and conservation for iconic species including orangutans, snow leopards, Komodo dragons and Humboldt penguins to create new, stimulating environments better adapted for optimal welfare.

ZOO TRANSFORMATION

Animal Welfare

We’re building on our reputation for world class animal care and ensuring the well-being of all of our creatures at the zoo by taking an even more comprehensive approach to evaluating our animals’ welfare.

Ecological Sustainability

We’re demonstrating our dedication to conservation right here at the zoo by expanding our Zoo Doo compost program and assessing opportunities to recycle gray water, such as stormwater.

Strengthening Our Zoo

We’re renovating our Assam Rhino Reserve, Trail of Adaptations, and Wildlife Theater to provide a more enriching environment for our animals and visitors, going above and beyond to promote our creatures’ well-being and enhance the immersive experiences we offer to connect with our community in new and exciting ways.

Long-Range Master Plan

We’re enhancing our growth and community engagement through the creation of our next Long-Range Master Plan, which will serve as a roadmap to guide our strategic expansion and ensure it fully aligns with our bold vision for the future.
