Tickets must be purchased at least 8 days before each event. Tickets include zoo admission and complimentary carousel rides. Children 2 and under can attend for free but still require a ticket for capacity purposes.

Pancakes with Penguins is a breakfast experience like no other, where guests can enter the zoo early and enjoy a delightful spread of fluffy pancakes, fresh fruit, and tasty toppings—all with a front-row view of the Humboldt Penguin Exhibit. Depending on the day, you might catch a keeper talk or a mascot visit. Whether you’re a breakfast lover, a penguin enthusiast, or both, this cozy morning gathering is the perfect way to start your day—with complimentary Tree Kangaroo Conservation Coffee, orange juice, and Infused Water. Guests with valid 21+ ID will be able to purchase mimosas.

Pancakes with Penguins will take place in front of the Humboldt Penguin exhibit, where guests will get to observe the penguins even before the zoo opens to the general public.

Yes, these events are family-friendly so children are welcome!

Lap infants & toddlers 2 and under can attend for free but require a ticket for capacity purposes.

Communal dining tables, seating up to 10 guests, will be set up near the Humboldt Penguin exhibit. Seating is first-come, first-served, and we are unable to accommodate table reservations. Larger groups should arrive early to increase the likelihood of adjacent seating.

Yes, your Pancakes with Penguins ticket includes all-day zoo admission. After Pancakes with Penguins dining experience concludes, guests can explore the rest of the zoo at 9:30am.

Parking for these events is in the zoo lots located along Phinney Avenue N. and N. 59th Street, and the lot accessible on N. 50th & Fremont Ave. N.

Penguin Lot and Otter Lot are the two parking lots closest to West Gate.

Pay-for-parking kiosks are located at each lot. Rates for Penguin Lot and Otter Lot: $10 for the first 2 hours; $2 each additional hour with a $14 maximum daily rate (+taxes & fees).

Disabled parking is available in all zoo lots.

If you must park on the streets surrounding the zoo, please be courteous and do not block driveways.

No rescheduling and no refunds. If the zoo cancels an event, we will refund in full.

The event will take place rain or shine. Outdoor canopies will be set up for rainy days. In the event of inclement weather and zoo closure, we will cancel the event and issue refunds.

No, we will only prepare outdoor canopies to prepare for rain. We strongly recommend guests come prepared with sunhats and sunscreen on sunny days.

Yes! We kindly ask that you park strollers and wagons in designated areas. Your cooperation allows easier access for guests with mobility devices to navigate around Humboldt Penguin Exhibit. Highchairs will be available upon request.

Humboldt Penguins will be active during the event. Depending on staffing availability, there will also be an engaging and educational keeper talk towards the second half of the dining experience.
