The zoo will close early at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2024, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Stand together for wildlife
...and start a movement for conservation
WE’RE ON A MISSION
Because human impact on this planet is so profound and pervasive, all wildlife and wild places are now in our care. What will we do with that responsibility: stand by or stand up?
Now imagine what our influence can do if we choose to stand together for wildlife.
That’s why Woodland Park Zoo is on a new mission:
To save wildlife and inspire everyone to make conservation a priority in their lives
It will take all of us together to make it happen...
thE movement
We must do more to save wildlife and wild places. It is time to unite all our voices and all our choices for the cause. It is time to ignite a movement for conservation.
Already, momentum is building. Thousands of you from diverse corners of our community contributed to our new Strategic Plan 2018 - 2022. Together, this is how we'll do it:
STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
Care
Our devotion to conservation starts with the 1,200 animals who call Woodland Park Zoo home. The animals in our care deserve the best and it’s our promise to them that we will push the standards and lead by example to give the highest quality of transparent and ethical care.

Inspire
To ignite a movement for conservation, we must create extraordinary experiences with animals that are welcoming, accessible and relevant. Everyone needs the opportunity to learn about, be inspired by and feel hope for the cause.

Empower
Through extraordinary experiences, community programs, and field conservation work, we will empower a movement of individuals and communities—here and around the world—to embrace and act for wildlife conservation.
