Spring has sprung at Woodland Park Zoo

Join us on April 12th from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and celebrate the beauty of spring at Woodland Park Zoo’s Spring Spectacular! Enjoy this special one-day event is packed with fun, family-friendly activities that highlight the wonders of the season.

Wander through blooming gardens, enjoy springtime animal enrichments, and engage with expert gardeners and horticulturists to learn about pollinator-friendly planting. Kids can get creative with arts and crafts, compete for prizes in zoo trivia, and more. Plus, discover how we turn animal waste into nutrient-rich compost gold—Zoo Doo! Join a Zoo Doo Yard tour to learn all about the most "poopular" compost in the Pacific Northwest and how it helps gardens thrive.

Spring Spectacular is the perfect way to welcome the season while learning how small actions can make a big impact. Explore the importance of native planting, discover ways to support pollinators in your own backyard, and see firsthand how sustainability efforts like composting contribute to a healthier planet. During this event, don’t miss our EV Ride & Drive experience, where you can test drive electric vehicles, scooters, and bikes while learning about the sustainable benefits of going electric. Join us for a fun-filled day of learning, play, and springtime joy.

Zoo Doo Yard Tours

Meet at the South Plaza for Guess the Zoo Doo before heading out with Dr. Doo to explore the magic of composting. First come, first served!

Test your conservation knowledge in a session of Family Trivia: From Zoo Poo to Bugs and Blooms



Zoomazium


Enjoy a variety of spring-themed activities, including Zoo Doo sensory activity, pollinator coloring sheets, as well as regularly scheduled Zoomazium programming.



Picnic Shelter


Get creative with giant coloring sheets and pollinator symmetry activities, presented by Seattle Universal Math Museum.
