Spring sale: Order now for pickups

A person wearing gardening gloves plants a small green seedling in dark soil, surrounded by other plants.

WHAT:
Spring brings renewal, rebirth—and Zoo Doo! Yes, it’s that time of year to enrich your plants and gardens with the aromatic compost uniquely concocted at Woodland Park Zoo, with a lot of help from the animals! Sold by the bulk in spring and fall only, orders will be accepted now online with pickups on March 21–22, March 28–29 and April 4–5.

A fully composted blend of bedding materials (straw, sawdust, wood chips, etc.) from around the zoo, Zoo Doo is mixed with feces pooped by a variety of the zoo’s animals including zebras, giraffe, lions, tapirs, primates, mountain goats, rhino and more. Woodland Park Zoo composts approximately 500 tons of animal waste each year! The sweet-smelling fertilizer is perfect for growing veggies and annuals and has been coveted by the region’s gardening enthusiasts and novices for 40 years.

Zoo Doo is a great way to keep gardens clean and healthy for the benefit of pollinators and other local wildlife and is a sustainable green choice. The zoo’s horticulture team also uses Zoo Doo in its award-winning animal habitats and other landscaped areas.
