Welcome hooded vultures Tutaonana and Kiara! For t Welcome hooded vultures Tutaonana and Kiara! For the first time in Woodland Park Zoo’s 126-year history, two critically endangered hooded vultures are calling the zoo home. The pair can be found across from the maned wolves, where they have quickly gotten comfortable in their new home and are enjoying snacking on their favorite treat of raw meatballs.

Like many species of vultures across the world, the population of hooded vultures has dramatically declined over recent decades, making them one of Africa’s most threatened birds. Get all the details at blog.zoo.org or blog link in bio. #woodlandparkzoo #vultures #hoodedvulture #birds #birdnerd
Our pregnant gorillas Olympia and Jamani are due j Our pregnant gorillas Olympia and Jamani are due just days apart!
🦍 Olympia and Jamani take part in side-by-side maternal training sessions with their dedicated keepers.
🍌 Both gorillas have experienced changes in their food preferences, especially during the first trimester (cravings and morning sickness)!
💗 These two have already raised their babies alongside each other in 2012 at North Carolina Zoo.
🥰 Nest building, readjusting body positions, acting restless, and disruption to regular sleep patterns can signal that a birth is imminent (pregnant humans can relate)!

ICYMI: Get all the details on what to expect when expecting TWO baby gorillas: blog.zoo.org or link in bio. #expecting #gorillas #animallovers #endangeredspecies #woodlandparkzoo
