ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Come Join Us!

Senior Zoo Walkers is a self-guided social walking program at the zoo to promote fitness and well-being among adults ages 55 and up. Participants spend time socializing with peers in a beautiful natural setting while learning more about wildlife and the natural world and engaging in healthy activities. This year-round program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:15 a.m. at the zoo’s south entrance. Throughout the year, the zoo hosts socials that offer participants the chance to learn more about the zoo. Some previous topics of our social include:

I have already registered for one quarter, how do I register for another?

Yes! If you would like a scholarship, please email us at classes@zoo.org and we will assist with your registration.

For $10, participants can purchase an optional quarterly parking permit for the Lion Lot. Entry to this lot is located at the intersection of N 50th St and Fremont Ave N. Parking is allowed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 9-11 a.m.

Street parking is available at no charge.

ADA accessible parking stalls are available in all zoo lots. Parking fees do not apply for any vehicle displaying a valid disabled parking placard, in any WPZ parking space.

The main loop path of the zoo is 0.8 miles.

No. The Senior Zoo Walker registration system is different from our membership portal, so you’ll need to create a Senior Zoo Walker account even if you are a member.

We do provide a $10 discount for WPZ members to participate in Senior Zoo Walkers. To receive this discount, you will select the”member discount” button during registration. You will NOT be prompted to enter your member number.

Yes! People often register a friend or family member for our program as a gift. Please register through our registration system, but remember to email classes@zoo.org after, to confirm that the correct individual will be receiving the Senior Zoo Walker pass.
