Story time, bookmobile, braille-enhanced Story Stroll, partner booths, and more
Join Woodland Park Zoo and Seattle Public Library in celebration of Disability Pride Month. Community members with disabilities, both visible and invisible, and their families, friends, and allies are invited to spend the day at the zoo for free and enjoy inclusive activities, stories, and resources throughout the event.
Join story time in the zoo’s Picnic Shelter at 11:00 a.m. ASL interpretation will be provided. Participate in singing, dancing, story sharing and bubbles. After story time, visit the Seattle Public Library’s Bookmobile and enjoy a braille-enhanced story stroll featuring Song in the City by Daniel Bernstrom.
Be sure to stop by partner booths on the North Meadow for fun activities and information about disability services throughout the city. Guests are also invited to visit the Sensory Garden in the Rose Garden. Guests will be able to engage with sensory tools available in the Rose Garden and on the North Meadow, courtesy of Premera Blue Cross. This event is designed to celebrate the disability community and highlight amazing work happening across Seattle.
Thank you to the presenting sponsor, Premera Blue Cross, and partners including the Seattle Public Library, Washington Talking Book and Braille Library, The Arc of King County, and Woodland Park Zoo.
