What is included with my ticket?

General admission tickets include event admission, 10 tasting tickets, commemorative wine tote and access to all zoo exhibits.

Premium tickets include early entry, 15 tasting tickets, commemorative wine glass, commemorative wine tote and access to all zoo exhibits.

Designated Driver includes unlimited soda and water and access to all zoo exhibits.

Do I still need to purchase a Tasting Flight ticket if I am not drinking?

Yes, Tasting Flight admission and a valid ID are required for everyone attending the event. We have a special designated driver ticket option for those who will not be drinking wine at this event.

Where should we enter?

Entry to this event will be through South and West entrances.

Is Tasting Flight admission available the day of the event?

If the event does not sell out in advance, general admission tickets will be available the day of the event, while quantities last. However, please note that this event has sold out in advance multiple times.

I see this is a “Bring Your Own Glass” event. Can I bring any kind of glass?

Non-glass wine glasses are advised since they make the wine taste best, but you are welcome to bring any cup you like. Premium ticket holders will receive a free commemorative wine tasting glass. There will be a limited quantity of souvenir glasses available for purchase at the event.

If I forget my wine glass, will there be glasses available?

Yes, compostable cups will be available, and a limited quantity of commemorative tasting glasses will be available for purchase. We strongly encourage people to bring their own glasses as we are trying to create a green event in the spirit of the zoo’s conservation mission.

Can I purchase a bottle of wine at this event? Can I drink it at the event?

Yes, bottles will be available for purchase (tax free). No, you may not drink any purchased bottles of wine while you are at the event. If our staff witnesses this behavior, you may be asked to leave the event. There will be wine valet stations located at Tasting Flight, so you won’t have to carry your wine bottles all night as you enjoy the event. Your wine purchases can be picked up at the end of the evening at the carousel.

Will there be food available at the event?

Yes! A variety of food options will be available throughout the zoo, including full-service spots like 1899 Grove, Gather and Graze, and Wild Cup. More information on food options will be available closer to the event.

Are the items available for purchase at the event cash only, or do you accept credit cards?

This is a card only event. Event admission tickets, wine glasses, additional tasting tickets and bottles of wine may be purchased with card only.

Can I bring a picnic?

You are welcome to bring a picnic, but outside alcohol is prohibited.

Is this event raising money for the zoo?

Yes! Proceeds from ticket sales, wine bottle sales, food, and extra tastings all support Woodland Park Zoo and our exemplary animal care, world-class education programs and more than 25 local and global conservation programs. Regular zoo membership admission does not apply.

Where do I park? How much does parking cost?

Parking for this event is in the zoo lots located along Phinney Avenue N. and N. 59th Street, and the lot accessible on N. 50th & Fremont Ave. N. South and West entrances will be open for Tasting Flight.

Guests with a state disability placard or license plate may park in the designated area in selected parking lots on a first-come, first-served basis.

ADA parking spots fill up quickly, so guests are also welcome to use the Otter Lot or Lion Lot to drop off individuals with disabilities or anyone unable to walk from the parking area to the venue. 

Staff & Volunteers are available to assist with questions and directions at any time. 

A limited number of spots will be available to prebook in our Otter Lot, Lion Lot and in our Flamingo Lot prior to the event. More information will be released closer to the event date. You will also receive information in the Know Before You Go email prior the event.

Guests can also choose to park in conveniently located zoo lots in non-reserved spaces. It’s $15 (plus taxes and fees) for parking in all non-reserved lot spaces. You can pay for parking at the parking kiosk located in your lot.

If you choose to park in the surrounding neighborhoods, please follow Seattle parking laws and leave 5′ on either side of driveways. Please be courteous to our neighbors after the event by keeping noise to a minimum. And most importantly, if you block someone’s driveway, you will be towed.

What should I wear?

This is a very casual event and you will be on grass, so dress comfortably and appropriately (rain or shine).

Can I walk anywhere with my wine?

The whole zoo and all the exhibits will be open for people to explore. Some exhibits may close early (Tropical Rain Forest and Bug World) but the entire footprint will be open until 8:30 p.m.

What animal exhibits will I be able to visit?

All our exhibits will be open and free to explore until 8:30 p.m. (Including any animal encounters.) Some exhibits may close early (Tropical Rain Forest and Bug World) but the entire footprint will be open for you to explore.
