From penguins and goats to emus and giraffes, many animals at the zoo receive this laser therapy from licensed veterinary technicians at the zoo. #GiveBIG

Providing top notch veterinary care is more than just diagnosing illnesses and treating injuries. From infancy through geriatric and comfort care, we have an amazing team of veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants and animal keepers who all contribute to ensuring the animals in our care have everything they need to live their best lives. At just a few months old, this little lion cub already has her fierce down as the Animal Health team does a quick visual check of her mouth, eyes and ears. 🦁 It’s all-hands-on-deck as the team transports anesthetized lion male Tandie back to his home in African Savanna. 🦒 An in-barn procedure with Dave the giraffe was a team effort to say the least. The animal care team, a farrier, exhibits team and even IT folks joined Animal Health staff to make sure Dave’s hoof procedure went smoothly. 🦍 Associate Veterinarian Dr. Rodrigo Garces monitors silverback Nadaya during a dental procedure.
